Over 10 Years as a Holistic Therapist
I'm Kathryn Moss, the Holistic Therapist behind Holistic Living. In 2006 I enrolled on an intensive Holistic Therapies course, and as a result qualified to practice Body Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, and Indian Head Massage. Consequently I became a member of the International Council of Holistic Therapists and have been practicing ever since, interspersed with short courses such as how to adapt treatments for cancer patients and facial rejuvenation massage. My professional body is the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), the largest and leading professional association for therapists in the UK and Ireland. I am fully insured through their insurers and you'll find me listed in their directory.
My massage practice is based in a warm and comfortable location in Kings Cliffe in the East Midlands, so is ideal for clients based in the Peterborough, Stamford, Oundle, Uppingham, Oakham, Kettering and Corby areas.
Initial Consultation
At my thriving practice I provide a number of hands-on therapies, put simply massage, aromatherapy, and reflexology. When I see a client for the first time, we will spend extra time doing a thorough consultation, so I can ensure that the treatment meets the client's needs. As a Holistic Therapist I like to get to know my clients in a holistic way, looking to treat mind, body, and spirit, not just a specific injury or problem, although I will give extra focus to specific issues as needed.
From the consultation I will form a picture of areas that require attention for a client, from aches and pains to mental well-being and everything in between. Then at each session we'll have a quick chat at the beginning to establish how they're doing and what needs extra focus on the day. Many of my clients are regular and see their treatments as being essential for their overall well-being.
The consultation may highlight medical conditions that require confirmation from a medical professional (doctor, consultant) before the client can receive a treatment. Obviously it is better that this gets dealt with before a client comes to see me so I usually ask a potential client whether they have any serious health conditions upon initial contact. Ensuring that it is safe to go ahead with a treatment is essential for client well-being, although it must be said that rarely is it considered unsafe.
Treatments for Men
My client base does include a fair few men. However, I don’t take on new male clients unless a friend/client has recommended me, or they have a referral from a physiotherapist, doctor, or other medical professional.
Products and Further Information
Complementing my massage business I make and sell Kathryn Anne aromatherapy products through channels such as my Pure Aromatherapy online shop. These include creams, lotions, massage oils, shower gels, pure essential oils and blends, burners, and reed diffusers. I’ve also created a Complementary Therapies website that provides a wealth of information about complementary health topics such as massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, acupuncture, yoga, Pilates, counselling, meditation, exercise, and diet.
